I've been meaning to share this feature which makes using your gorgeous Lolly Bottoms even easier when out and about. A lovely friend Bell, of Tassie Made 4 Baby, suggested that it would be so much easier to change a side snap nappy when out if they had a snap on the wing to fasten a little soiled number to save for washing later. I thought it was a fantastic idea, and a good place to incorporate the size label - or snap as the case may be, so with her permission it became part of the Lolly Bottoms design! So thank you Bell for your very clever idea :)

A slight change to larges
Just a quick post to let you know that I have slightly changed the Lolly Bottoms large size for my second stocking, not a huge change and may well have gone totally un-noticed since there's not many of them out there yet but I wanted to let you know anyway!
The sizing has not changed, I've just tweaked the wings really - the snaps are slightly further apart and are now positioned as 4 top snaps and 5 lower ones... the wings have changed dimensions ever so slightly so that there is no overlap now behind the front panel when fastened on the tightest setting... for aesthetics mainly but will slightly reduce bulk at the front when worn as well.
Hope you like them, and watch out for the new extra small and small sizes, they'll be coming very soon!

A little pressie...
....for a lucky little someone!! :D
Due to my inability to draw much masculine inspiration from a 'sweet' themed first stocking, my offerings for boys was sadly lacking I admit. As a way to say sorry and redeem myself just a little I would like to offer this 'seconds' LARGE AI2 with yellow microfleece inner up for FREE!!! (well for the price of postage to you anyway)
I made it for the 'sweet as' stocking but mucked up the embroidery on the back - the thread tension is not right and means that quite a bit of bobbin thread is showing through the top of the design. I put it aside unfinished but have just made it up now and it is perfect save the too-tight embroidery... adds more character anyway I say!! ;)
Shows the quality of the embroidery - you can see his bow-tie and rosy red cheeks are the most obvious flaws.
If your little man would like to go into the draw then add your name below or email me on mymymykids@gmail.com to be in with a chance to win for the price of postage ($5). Ending Sunday 7th August 2011, 8pm. I will list the names in order of time of entry and use a random number generator to pick the winning name as soon as I can after close, winner to be announced on Facebook and here - if you would like me to email you if you win please leave your email address on your comment.
Thank you for joining in!

Heavy or light? We have options!
I designed Lolly Bottoms nappies as a trim yet very absorbent option as my babies have been 'flooders', often out-weeing many brands I've tried. I designed the booster system with this in mind trying to get as much absorbency into the nappy without making them too bulky. But it occurred to me that some people don't need all that bamboo as their children just don't flood them like I'm used to! My testers have been more than happy with the boosters but a number of them have mentioned that they have very light wetters, so I took this on board and decided why don't I offer the option?
So Lolly Bottoms will come with the option - to buy the nappy with a 'heavy' or 'light' booster system. All-In-2's will be listed as 'lights' with the option to upgrade to a heavy booster system if you are like me and need that little bit extra!
AI2 Light: A rectangular upper insert running almost the length of the nappy, made up of a layer of microfibre sandwiched between a bamboo fleece layer and microfleece, velour or suedecloth upper layer. This is attached to a long two layer bamboo booster which can be folded to get the absorbency where it's needed.
AI2 Heavy: A contoured upper insert running almost the length of the nappy covering as much area as possible, made up of a layer of microfibre sandwiched between a bamboo fleece layer and microfleece, velour or suedecloth upper layer. This is attached to a long-er (double the length of the nappy) which again can be folded to get absorbency where required.
Lolly Bottoms pocket nappies will generally be made with a contoured insert and foldable booster similar to the heavy AI2 booster but as I will generally be offering pockets on custom orders only it is something we can discuss when you place your order.
I'm currently working hard to get some nappies together to offer at my first Lolly Bottoms stocking in the very near future - definitely in July, stay tuned for a date!!

my my my nappies are coming soon
So I thought it would be a good idea to start sharing some of the features that I have been working on to make them a great fitting, reliable and gorgeous alternative to disposables!
Firstly, they are going to be available in either AI2 or pocket styles, minky or poly PUL outers and stay-dry inners against baby's bum.
There are a few things I have been wanting for when using modern cloth nappies and these are things I have designed into my own style...

the first I want to share is the shape of the tummy panel, this along with the snap placement(which I will talk about in another post) allows the front of the nappy to sit snugly (but not tightly) against baby's belly. I don't like it when my daughter's nappies sit down under the waistband of her pants - it causes the nappy to bunch at the front and often the top of her pants has become wet from slipping down against the inside of her nappy. Babies move around A LOT so with this in mind I wanted to offer something that would stay put and be comfortable at the same time!
